Do you have the right follow-up strategy?

Do you have the right follow-up strategy?

Hi, It’s Dr. Jean, The Results Queen®.

I was just speaking to a colleague about following up with potential clients, or prospects, as you might call them.

And in our conversation, we talked about the two different types of follow-ups that you have to conduct.

The first follow-up is with people who are super responsive.

They’re the ones that keep sending you emails saying, “Yes, I really want to work with you. I just need to do this.

Or “yes, we promise that we’ll be working with you, I just need to do that.

And they’re following up with you, reassuring you that they will absolutely want to work with you.

It’s just there’s something that’s standing in the way.

I know that this can be truth because actually, we’re experiencing that right now in my business.

So when that happens, don’t despair because the person really does want to work with you.

The timing isn’t just quite right yet.

Then there are those that are not responsive to you that no matter how many emails you send or how many phone calls you make, you don’t hear from them.

You need to have a strategy for both of those types of people, for the ones that are responsive and the ones that are not responsive.

And then the ones that are responsive, they’re usually following up with you, and that’s okay.

Make sure that you keep hearing from them.

And when you don’t, that’s when you can reach out.

You’re just holding their hand, as they’re working through the timing to start working with you.

In the case of the other ones, the nonresponsive people, I do what I call my love notes.

I send an email every Monday, and it’s usually just about three lines, and it’s just checking in.

Now, what I find about both these types of groups of people, whether they’re responsive or nonresponsive, is that it’s all in the follow up.

And so many of us get frustrated and we stop following up.

The fact is that if you really want these people to be working with you, then you need to follow up with them and you need to hold their hand so that they say yes to you.

So when you have a responsive follow-up and a nonresponsive follow-up, I want you to make sure that you have a strategy to make sure that you get them across the finish line.
