How to Have a Growth Mindset

How to Have a Growth Mindset

I’m Dr. Jean, The Results Queen®,  and today I’m coming to you from my kitchen table.

So many of our clients have been asking us for solutions on how to conduct new business development remotely.

I like to share those solutions with you too.

As someone who’s been working remotely for over 10 years, I know what it takes to conduct new business development even from your kitchen table.

So let’s get to those solutions.

  • The time to grow your practice is NOW.
  • There has never been a better time to grow than RIGHT NOW.
  • And one of the ways to do that is to have a growth mindset, I knew what’s great about a growth mindset is that you’re not born with it, it’s something you can learn.

So let’s talk about how do you have a growth mindset?

  • Well, the first thing is that you have to want to grow.
  • Want is really important.

Now, I know a lot of financial advisors who don’t want to grow their practice, and the reason why is that they’re nervous or even scared because it’s going to require so much more work.

And that’s really just not true.

That’s something that you’re telling yourself.

So a lot of times when we want to grow, we put these rocks that prevent us from moving forward.

And that’s a rock that we would blast through to make sure that you know that it’s not going to take more work to grow your practice.

Another rock in the growth mindset is I don’t want to feel pushy or salesy or aggressive.

So many people think that when they grow their practice, they have to be pushier, they have to be more aggressive about it.

And that’s not true either.

The fact is that you just need to see more people and not necessarily a lot more people.

One of the things that when clients come to us and they say, we want to grow, we say to them, how many people do you need to see?

And our mindset tells us hundreds when the reality is you might need to say 10.

So the fact is that being salesy or pushy or aggressive, not truth in terms of growing your practice.

Third thing, in terms of your growth mindset, personal development.

When you have a growth mindset, you are constantly, consistently learning how to grow, always learning how to grow.

And you do that in so many ways by reading books, listening to podcasts, having an accountability partner, getting a mastermind group, having a coach.

The fact is that when you are growing, you are always learning.

So if you haven’t learned something new, go out and learn something new.

I have to tell you, even reading People magazine, I have learned things that have applied to my practice.

So it is now the time to grow your practice.

Get yourself your growth mindset because that is what’s going to be toil you forward.
